As part of the NSW Government’s Electric Vehicle Strategy, NSW Government is offering $3,000 rebates for the first 25,000 new battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles with a dutiable value of less than $68,750.
In combination with the abolition of stamp duty, it could save eligible EV purchasers up to $5,540 on the price of their vehicle.

From September 2021, stamp duty will be removed for eligible new or used battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell light vehicles that cost up to $78,000 (dutiable value).
For eligible vehicles registered in NSW from 15 August 2022, the stamp duty exemption will be applied automatically. This provides upfront savings on the purchase of your zero emissions vehicle.
If you registered an eligible vehicle between 1 September 2021 and 14 August 2022, you can claim back the stamp duty paid.

The Drive electric NSW EV fleets incentive aims to help private businesses, not-for-profits and local councils bridge the cost of transitioning your fleet’s passenger, light commercial or sports utility vehicles to Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) through a reverse auction process.
The incentive will support the purchase of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), with additional funds available for smart base charging. Successful of bids are determined by the amount of incentive sought and level of carbon emissions equivalent abated.
